In 2014 I recorded a five track EP of my own songs entitled ‘Lungfull’. It was recorded in Manchester by Biff Roxby with musical contributions from Ellis Davies, Ríoghnach Connolly, Angus Fairbairn and Phil Howley. It is available to listen online below, and can be purchased from Bandcamp.
Brooke Sharkey – I have been working in Brooke’s band as a cellist and backing singer since the middle of 2016.
“London based singer-songwriter Brooke Sharkey was raised between France and England, since her return she has released 2 Eps and 2 full length albums ‘One Dress’ (2012) and ‘Wandering Heart’ (V2 records- 2016). Brooke was featured in the FUTURE 50 article in The Guardian in November 2016 about independent artists doing it their own way. She produces her music and collaborates with band members based in and around East London.”
Band of Burns – I feature in this project as a singer, collaborator and cellist.
“Band of Burns is a collaboration of twelve musicians from the top echelons of the UK folk scene.
Bringing elements of the musical traditions of Scotland, Ireland, England and even Turkey, so far this band have come together in two iconic venues to celebrate the life and works of Scottish National Poet Rabbie Burns in a truly unique way.”
Nick Hart and Dominie Hooper – We sing.
“Nick Hart & Dominie Hooper are an exciting new duo appearing on the UK folk scene for 2017. Having both spent years refining their own crafts, they come together to present Traditional English Folk Songs collected from and between their respective homes of Dartmoor and East Anglia. With stunningly clear vocal harmonies and the exquisite accompaniment of Nick’s subtle, finger-picked guitar, they give fascinating and refreshing insights into the often obscured genre of English Traditional Song.”
I am available as a session singer and able perform in a number of styles depending on the requirements of the project. I started my vocal training at the age of nine, and as well as being a lead vocalist, I have worked extensively as a singer in a number of supporting roles. I have always paid great attention to the complex requirements of harmony singing, with emphasis on tone-matching, phrasing and dynamics. If you would like to talk to me about a project, please get in touch via the contact page.
